What is your current status?

I am attending the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. I’m studying business through the Mendoza College of Business, as well as completing the Program of Liberal Studies as a double major.

Who or what helped you make that plan?

My parents and I visited colleges together the summer before my senior year and I was able to figure out what I was looking for in a university, which significantly helped my college decision process. My interest in business also greatly influenced that plan, because I knew I wanted to study at an institution with a strong undergraduate business program.

Last year, you received a scholarship through the Jiffy Lube Teen Driver Scholarship Program. What advice you would give seniors who are applying for scholarships?

Apply to a plethora of scholarships! It takes a long time to hear back from some scholarships, so instead of waiting in apprehension, apply to some more! The most success I’ve had with scholarships were ones that were more local (Pacific Northwest region), and the prize money was a smaller amount. The less competition in a scholarship, the more likely you will have success. Also, apply to scholarships that highlight your abilities. There are scholarships where you can submit an essay, artwork, science research, etc., so find what suits your strengths!
