Joanne Norris was an award-winning journalist. Her career began in the 50s, at a time when relatively few women were journalists, and she dedicated her exploration to go beyond “puff piece” assignments into deeper concerns, including sexism, racism and bias. Joanne understood that honest journalism means examining a story from every angle, unafraid of where the facts will lead, and presenting it with respect for the immutable value of the truth. In her honor, Joanne Norris Scholarship was created.
