Portland Aviation Day 2026: 

May 9th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm 

Registration will open on or about March 23rd and close upon hitting capacity or one week before the event. Registration will be on our Alaskaair.com website. 

The event is located at the Horizon Ops Center.

For youth aged 11-18 years old, focused on career opportunities in Aviation 

What we offer: 

We ask that the chaperone–to–youth ratio be about 1 adult to 3-4 youth, to allow for more space for the youth. 

All youth must be part of a group with a chaperone present and responsible for their youth in attendance. 

The event and parking are free for everyone, but pre–registration is required–no admittance on the day of without pre–registration.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate food sensitivities. If that is an issue for youth, they need to plan accordingly on their own. 

There will be additional food for purchase options at the event for adults and youth if desired. All events, exhibits, classes, and professional interactions are available to all who attend. 

The vast majority of things are unlimited and will have plenty of space for all to experience. Some events, exhibits, and classes will be limited due to space, but available to everyone on a first–come, first–served basis throughout the day. That list will be available at the start of the event. 

Free backpack with event materials and aviation–related fun items for all registered youth. 

They will receive their backpacks upon check–in. 

They will be issued a “passport” that encourages the youth to engage in as many events, exhibits, classes, and professional interactions as possible. Each station will have a stamp for their passport. If the youth makes a reasonable effort to complete as many stations as possible, they will receive an Alaska Airlines Aviation Day challenge coin upon checkout.
